Idea For A Blue Collar Networking Business

With an audience this big I wanted to run an idea past all of you. In the handful of years since college I've seen a growing understanding of how important and how well paying some blue collar jobs are.

My background is in quality assurance and I've noticed that although there is work throughout the U.S. and world most of the graduates from technical/technology and colleges end up working within the area they grew up around or went to school in.

Now having gone to one of these schools I understand that most of the companies that routinely come to the schools, they are mostly local.

There are better employment options out there and better employee options out there.

So my idea is to create a platform that will have two sides to it. One with students that can create profiles and list what they have accomplished in their education, what certifications they may have received, when they would be graduating all that good stuff. Then the other half would be for the employers.

Now where I would like to stand out from other like platforms is to work with the governing bodies of the particular field the student is getting into. The UA, AWS, NECA, ASNT etc. This would allow the students to take certifying/non-certifying test to show the employer they are ready to go and let's the employer know they are hiring an individual that actually paid attention, someone they can train or bring up to real world speed at a quicker rate.

A platform like this would extend the reach of the students to find work outside of their local/state area and somewhat level the playing field on the hiring side. Giving small businesses that can't afford to go on a two week recruitment trip the same reach as the larger companies.

This would also be very clear what everyone is looking for/seaking. The student is looking for that entry into their industry and the business knows they will be getting an educated cheaper option over having to choose from either someone off the street or individuals that are over qualified for the position they are trying to fill.
