Free tool for near real-time data from SQL query

I am looking for a method to display a single number on an Android tablet (probably in a browser) that pulls from a SQL query and refreshes often (~60 seconds). Is there a good free tool to accomplish this? I normally use SSRS and Tableau, but neither of those are well suited to this problem. This is just a fun side project so I can display near real-time stats for my team, which is why it needs to be free.

Any suggestions? Even general direction would be helpful.

Edit: I went with SSRS using the auto refresh property (since that's what I already have installed). Thanks everyone!
