Hey All!
I have had some fairly large diet upheavals in the past year, and I am currently on a high-protein diet. One of the ways that I now get all my protein in is through tinned fish (anchovies, sardines, herring. no tuna). On one hand, it seems like an ideal food to take to the Burn. OTOH, what the fuck do I do with the extra oil or water in the can?
I usually buy the oil-packed, and I would absolutely not throw that into our grey water. I believe it would fuck up our grey water system. Also, I'd be terrified of what the smell would turn into.
For other people who have taken tinned fish, what did you do? Put the oil into a jar or bottle to dispose of? What that safe/can't ferment and explode? Put it in kitty litter? Anything other than use it in cooking? I don't think I can use much of it yet in cooking, even if I wanted to, I think that amount of oil would have me living out of a porto.
Edit to add: I appreciate the suggestions to drink it, but it gives me the shits when I've tried so far. And on playa, I tend to go in that direction anyways (vs constipation like most Burners seem to go), so I really don't want to gamble on crappy craps.
