On my first night on playa this year, I heard an artist say “Make Burning Man Janky Again”, and this really stuck with me. Burning Man’s beauty comes, for me, from what it takes to build art pieces, costumes, camps, etc.
In the spirit of that, I am really interested in exploring ways to build more for myself and decommodify my whole burning man experience - attempting to eliminate some single use plastics, shopping not on Amazon, etc.
I know I cannot be the first person to have a mission to reconnect to the anti-capitalist ethos of burning man leading up to, during and after my burn, so I am curious if you all have resources about this topic. Communities, threads, articles, etc.
