I’m from the city of St. Louis, in the USA. Our new team St. Louis City SC is going to have its inaugural season in the MLS next year (2023). Our GM Lutz Pfannanstiel is trying to form the team along the Bundesliga model. He even got Roman Bürki from Borussia Dortmund to be our Goalie.

As a more casual fan of the game who’s trying to get more knowledgeable, and who has had little exposure to the Bundesliga, how does this league differ from other leagues, like EPL or La Liga? What is the play style like? What are the team’s philosophies?

I hope my question isn’t too winded or complicated, but in order to better support our new club, I’d like to better understand what our front office is drawing inspiration from.
