Downtown Buffalo and Cheektowaga area Tuesday dec 27 can I make it?

Trying to visit family and I can’t stay with them. I had booked the aloft downtown and would have to drive out to Cheektowaga. It looks like the roads are Supposed to open at 8am, but I’m reading the travel ban is still in place.
Is this safe to do, or should I postpone? Will the drive Cheektowaga to downtown be bad? Should I try to find a hotel in Cheektowaga or maybe by the U?
