Save A Lot on Genesee closing for 2-3 WEEKS to assess damage caused by looters. This is sad and embarrassing.

i donā€™t mean to be confrontational but how can you be sure that the grocery stores were looted (as opposed to just out of stock)? iā€™m sure a whole lot of people had the same idea as your husband and may have beaten him to the stores.

it just doesnā€™t seem necessary to make unfounded comments that will rile more people up against each other when the city needs to be coming together.

that makes sense - iā€™m sorry, i really didnā€™t mean to be accusatory, i was just frustrated with how other people in this thread are saying negative things about the city based on the bad actions of some desperate people.

i hope you were able to get to some stocked stores!!

thank you!!

would someone mind providing a source to verify that theyā€™re closing due to looting?

the picture says ā€œdamage done to our storeā€, which could just as easily be referring to damage from the storm. itā€™s irresponsible to post something like this with a sensationalist caption just to spark hatred against impoverished communities.

genuinely curious: how do you know the stores were looted? is it possible that they were just sold out of everything?

edit: i replied to the wrong comment thread sorry šŸ™ƒ
