I get it, itās not nyc. Itās not MTA. Itās like this almost everywhere in the US thatās not a major city. I get it, Iāve posted about it and heard it all but Iām just venting here because Iām really truly frustrated.
All I know is buses and trains. Do you blame me? Iām born and raised in NYC. I donāt know how to drive. Nobody in my family does. We were never expected to learn cuz we were spoiled by mass transit. I move up here thinking I can live here and adjust with your public transportation and it has been hell.
I come to the bus stop five minutes early, the bus was 10 minutes ahead of schedule for some reason so I miss it.
I come to the bus stop 10 minutes early, the bus is 12 minutes behind schedule for some reason so Iām waiting longer and getting to my destination longer.
Sometimes it comes exactly on time but most of the time itās either early or late. Whatās the point of the bus schedule then? I ask some Of the drivers this and show them the schedule and they laugh at me really. Most of them donāt care and are just trying to get through the day. Iām trying to get to work/the gym/my kids school, etc though, I 100% rely on the bus to go anywhere in Buffalo. I have no family up here. I have no friends that I know of. Iām also poor and canāt just afford driving lessons or even a vehicle to begin with. I know most of you guys get around with cars and thatās the status qou over here- get a car or prepare to struggle, but can we please at least try to work on mass transit?
Iām so sick of leaving my house super early just to miss the bus anyway. The bus times are so unforgiving, you miss a bus and youāre stuck waiting 30 minutes for the next. I know most of you are going to just tell me suck it up and get a car but Iām just crying to change. Iāve been living here 6 years and havenāt adjusted to living here due to not being able to get around well enough to meet people or even get to work on time.
I recently got approval for a free bike from a wny organization helping poverty stricken people obtain reliable transportation so at least I have that to look forward to and Iām so grateful, but my message still stands. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday. Thanks for listening/reading
I turned off reply notifications but thank you for those who support me and this post. Iām going to find a way to get this out to NFtA themselves. Also, please stop telling me get a bike, READ ABOVE š. Have a great day
You don't have to be R to see that the streets of NYC have garbage everywhere and that the lifestyle sucks unless you really need to live there for your career. You couldn't pay me to live there and I'm a leftist.

I did indeed live in Astoria for a month before getting the fuck out of there.
