Help with brewing in general

so I got into MTG last year and I'm loving commander, mostly played online so I had access to all cards but now want to do IRL but of course I can't afford everything.
so I would like to know what things do you all use to help brew decks, like I know this card helps, but how would I find a cheaper alternative with similar effects? or looking for cards in general.
all advice is welcome
