Hi guys,
Would appreciate a bit of help, as I’m trying to figure out a good set up without breaking the bank. My wife and I inherited a bunch of vinyl from her dad and we want to use this opportunity to get into the whole scene. We’re in Denmark but putting the money values in euros, just to simplify things. Our set up for a relatively big living room (high ceilings) and focused on music.
This is what we’re thinking of (links for reference, mostly)--
Turntable:
Rega Planar 1 https://www.rega.co.uk/products/planar-1
Receiver/amp:
Sony STRDH190 https://www.sony.com/electronics/av-receivers/str-dh190
Speakers:
OR
OR
B&W 607 https://www.bowerswilkins.com/net/home-audio/600-series-anniversary/607
What do you think? Or do you suggest alternatives/additions to this? Each component above is around €300, which is more or less what we want to spend in total (under €1,000). We’re drawn to this setup and to passive speakers due to its upgradability, as this is our first go at this whole vinyl thing.
We have no size/weight restrictions as we have plenty of space. We listen to a variety of music, so difficult to pinpoint. Warm and smooth sound would be my best approx. to our tastes.
Thanks!
