Hi budget audiophiles, I'm currently looking to upgrade from my pair of Boston Acoustics A40 to something modern as I want to try what the current generation has to offer.

• Budget and currency (seems like a given, but youd be surprised)
  • ~$300, HKD, fairly flexible budget-wise though
• In which country are you located
  • Hong Kong
• Where can you buy from (ie which Amazon if any)
  • Local stores, some online stores (not sure yet, need to do research)
• What you want to use it for (music, movies, games, all of the above, etc)
  • Music and games
• On a desk or in a room (or both)

• How big of a space and how loud
  • Small-medium-sized space, not exactly sure how large but one side of my desk is up against a wardrobe, something that can go loud enough but not too loud as it'll be near-field listening
• Powered, passive, or no preference
  • Passive, running off a vintage Sony STR-6050 30w/ch receiver
• Any size limitations for either speaker or amp
  • Nothing too large of course but not too much of a preference here
• Do you want something you can easily upgrade later
  • No preference
• Do you like your music / games / movies / etc. to sound a certain way? (Bright/forward, smooth/laid back, neutral, etc)
  • Neutral-warmish is fine, nothing too bright or forward
