I recently moved to a new house and I have a 13x10 room for a 7.2.4 system. Initially I wanted a much higher end system but I decided to settle for less after I allocated my budget elsewhere. My local Best Buys are selling all of their Klipsch demo units. Prices listed are $CAD/USD and include taxes when applicable.
- R-52C $145/105
- R-41M x4 $200/150
- R-820F x2 $475/355
- R120SW $185/140
- Total: $1005/755
I do understand that many people say they lower end Klipsch's sound bright, and I won't be able to test that until I buy them. On FBM i couldn't find the same Klipsch's for cheaper, but I did find a few SVS listings, which are kind of rare in Canada.
- Prime Satellites x5 SB-1000 $1300/975
- Prime Satellites x2 $400/300
- Total: $1700/1275
I think buying everything used lets me later sell them for a similar price I bought them for. My upgrade path after getting a 7.1 system is to get 4 ceiling speakers, then upgrade the sub, then LCR, and then finally the surrounds.
What do y'all think?
