It's thanks to this sub that I have had a decent setup for a few years now. I started with mb42's and a lepai 2020-a . I was itching for an amp with more features and better tone, but still with a small footprint, so I snagged the SMSL AD14. Can't escape some digital yet, wife and I appreciate fast easy bluetooth when the kids need a distraction before dinner.
Upgraded the turntable about 2 years ago from something we won't mention to the Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo when it was on a decent sale from one of the online retailers. After that I had a buddy wanting some louder better sound than his tv, so I sold him the original miccas and gave him the lepai and I just sized up to two of the micca mb42x-centers and I love the clarity.
Very recently I fell into a pair of Acoustic Research AR-4x's. (Which is why my wiring is visible and janky. Haven't cut new lines, waiting on tips to arrive for my cable). These need some love but have expanded my bass presence in the room and really opened up the image to me more than I have experienced before. They're running in parallel with the Miccas and while an unordinary pairing, I think they complement each other with what I listen to.
Anyways, just wanted to give a long overdue thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences, setups, failures and helped compile the different data that is available. Sound is something we all love and it can be whatever you want to make of it. Just like anything else, enjoy it wherever you're at on your journey.
