Hypothetically, if one must let go of all worldly attachments, why not just go live in North Korea or another authoritarian state & give up all of one's possessions?

I'm sure this gets asked here a lot. But I can't seem to wrap my head around this contradiction.

From what I understand, we eventually must let go of all worldly desires to achieve nibbana.

Following this logic, I'm sure many people here would not be happy living in an authoritarian dictatorship where they have to give up their individual freedoms and comforts.

Is the correct Buddhist view to be satisfied with whatever life throws at you? Let's say there's a revolution tomorrow and you have to give up all your property, dress the same as everyone else, and work like a slave for the benefit of society.

If I give up all worldly attachments, I'd probably be fine with that. But I'm not. I would never accept that reality and would try to escape from it.

What would the correct Buddhist course of action be? To accept and be fine with a dystopian reality, or to try and change it?
