Buddhism comforts me from death

I hope I'm not wasting anyones time saying this. I am comforted from death by buddhism and its teachings. However i have been thinking if I am being comforted by Buddhism doesn't that mean that really I am scared of death and thus need comforting? That i haven't actually accepted death fully, how can you really accept it? Maybe I'm just being neurotic!
