Good morning,
As part of my efforts to learn more about the Buddhist teachings, and to increase my own faith and devotion, I thought it important to try to translate the 21 Tara praises into my native language. Somehow, I feel that the sacred prayer will only be felt in my heart if I were to recite it solemnly in my native language. Therefore, what I am doing right now is to translate the 21 praises.
The other reason is that during my learning efforts I find no material in my native language. I'm making an attempt to understand some Sanskrit, correct pronunciations but as part of this journey I feel that it is equally critical to have this in my native language to benefit other people who also speak Urdu.
The native language it is in is Urdu. If you speak Urdu, please feel free to comment.
The following is the translation of the 1st praise
تارا کو سلام، جو تیز اور بہادر ہیں۔
آپ کی آنکھیں بجلی کی طرح چمکتی ہیں، بہت تیز اور سب کچھ دیکھنے والی،
تینوں جہانوں کے رب کے آنسوؤں سے پیدا ہوئیں
ایک خوبصورت کھلتے ہوئے کنول کے دل میں۔"
You can also take this translation, feed it to Google or AI, and let me know your feedback if this translation maintains the original praise. The above translation is after at least 20 or so revisions back and forth with different translation systems from Sanskrit, and from my own understanding of Urdu language.
I think this will be a huge help to other people who speak Urdu and wish to learn about Buddhism, and enter into Buddhism. It will also help me solidify my own faith.
I will be translating one praise every few days or so. I hope we can gather more people who speak Urdu and wish to explore it further.
