I've been thinking about Buddhism for a bit of time and...is it against the teachings to believe in a creator?

Post Body
I have recently started looking more into Buddhism, and the more I learn, the more it resonates with me, but... I do believe in a creator. Not necessarily the abrahamic god, and i dont really like calling it a god, but I do believe the universe was created by a now absent God, does this clash with Buddhist beliefs?
