I'm natural an analytic person with how my mind interfaces with the world. It's reinforced by my curiosity and answer-seeking (science major at university), and attempts to interact with the world otherwise seem disingenuous or forced. I find that attempts to understand the transience of the self or relativity in perspective (being One with all things) to be difficult to internalize though the seeming answer to my issues given the contrasting nature of how my mind normally works. I'm sure there is much I have misunderstood about Buddhism's teaching (along with similar spiritual traditions in Hinduism and Taoism), but I still feel like my answers lie within these teachings, I just can't make anything fit together. I find that a focus on universal nature seems to resonate with me with these traditions that I don't otherwise feel connected to with more Western ideas. I add that if it's relevant to any insight you fine folks may provide. Thanks in advance.
