I don’t grow myself, but have a few growers who I get trim/larf/popcorn from.

I’ve only run bubble twice before mind you, so still learning; I ran 220gm of “average” Australian sour diesel. From my t-check 2.0 readings of THC content, I’d imagine this to be around the 9-12% mark. Not bad weed, not dirty, no PGRs used (chronic here) but mate offered it to me to make hash from.

I used a washing machine, let it have an ice sandwich for ~45mins (tight buds mainly and shake) and then filled with water and tried to maintain a less than 2C temperature for all runs.

Washing machine cycle times: 1. 3 spins 2. 1min 3. 2mins 4. 3mins 5. 6mins 6. 9mins

I tried to keep the perfect ratio of ice/water/material so as to enable to correct vortex motion for the water to stroke off the resin heads.

I ran the following bags: 220u - work bag 160u - (first two runs then ditched it - less than 0.5gm in each run) 120u - used this to keep the 90u clean 90u - expected more from this, maybe 1-3gm total from 6 runs...? 73u - again, underwhelmed. Maybe 2-3gm total 45u - much better volume and beautiful golden silky colour that foamed nicely when sprayed and sieved according to frenchy cannolis method. Probably 4-7gms 25u - yielded well.

My process is to allow the washing machine to run, drain into bags set in 20L paint pails that have all been cut-to-shape by angle grinding the bottoms off at different heights to allow a smooth drainage through the buckets. The 25u I save in another bucket, and pour the run off of all the other bags through it (quite a task shaking and processing that bag compared to the others!

My question really is; who has run ice-water / bubble hash on sour diesel strain and found the lower micron rating to have yeilded more? Is it because I’m used to indica dominant strains with 73u & 90u yielding the most?
