So I've been kicking this question around in my head for the last couple of days. What are the most Springsteen-sounding songs that he did not write? What songs, thematically and/or sonically, sound like they were actually Bruce songs, even though he had nothing to do with their creation?
My list of five to start:
Keep the Car Running - Arcade Fire
Cumberland Gap - Jason Isbell
When You Were Young - The Killers
The Great American Bar Scene - Zach Bryan
rearviewmirror - Pearl Jam
Half the world still thinks that Bruce sings Greg Allman's song 'I'm No Angel'
