Brown is definitely at the top of the list for universities I want to go to, but the location of it is my biggest point of reluctance. Personally, I’m from an area with connections to multiple good sized cities, and I’m only a 30 minute drive from my state capital. I want to apply to Brown, but the location is one of the biggest question marks to me if I want to invest a few years of my life there (if I were to get in). Providence is a pretty good city although more quaint than what I’m used to, and I’ve heard many different things good and bad about living there about the active life. I’m also used to living in a fairly hot area (I’m from the south), and the transition to hot and mostly dry to the wet and cold of RI is going to be interesting.
