Brand New to Broward County and Permitting Process
Post Body

Hi everyone,

As title suggests, I just moved down here for work and purchased a condo in Hallandale Beach. There are a couple things I need to do in the unit and wondering what exactly needs a permit and what doesn't. This whole permitting process is confusing the hell out of me lol.

For now I have a contractor (permits have been filed) to replace an electrical panel and a couple outlets in the kitchen. But the rest of the work I'm wondering if it needs a permit or not.

1) I have a den that I would like to add a wall and convert into a 3rd bedroom.

2) I would like to extend the ac vent about 5' forward into the room I'm closing off.

3) I would like to add a couple ceiling fans (ceiling mounted. No drilling into concrete ceiling required)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows of any electricians they recommend that service Hallandale Beach, I would truly appreciate it as well. Thanks!
