Hi! My mom and I are going to New York in 2 weeks. We've been before and buy almost all of our tickets day of. However we've never bought standing room. Since we're going during the holiday season, is there any tips and tricks that we should do to make sure that we can get in to see as many things for as cheap as possible? I know that moulin rouge and hadestown have some designated standing spaces available at their box office, but the big thing i want to see that's way too expensive for me right now is Romeo and Juliet, and I heard that they do standing room too. Anyone that can share their experience with how to rush the most successfully, especially with standing room would be so appreciated. We're very go with the flow, but I want to have some ideas of what rush and getting standing room is like, especially during the holiday season. Additionally, and maybe a dumb question, I saw that great gatsby does $25 rush tickets for students. I'm canadian, would they still accept my student ID???
Thanks for dealing with my poor grammar, and thanks for any advice I can get!!!!
Check the rush reports that are posted daily on here to get a sense of what time you should start lining up for the shows you want. It’s been pretty cold here this past week, which has been skewing the times that people are starting to line up each day. But I do recall last week people still lining up at 5am or so for Romeo Juliet but I think other people showed up closer to 7am.
And I’d call the box office of The Great Gatsby to ask—I’d imagine they would accept any student ID but I could be wrong.
SIX also offers student rush tickets, I think for $35.
