I was working for a local television station as a master control operator and newscast director. Called a technical media producer. The station I worked for also threw a third job at me editing for newscast. Well I made a mistake on air and was fired. I was trying to code my show and operate master control at the same time. Producer kept changing things without letting myself or someone else know so mistakes were made. Yes I was responsible partially because I miscoded, but at the same time I think the producers should have to bear some responsibility as well. I asked my co-worker to help check my show because I was having problems keeping up with all of the changes. I am going to take a couple of weeks and decide if I want to stay in the world of television or if I am going to just keep plugging along and just working at a convenience store or something. Not to many openings in the area I live. The bad part, we also do not receive much training with the equipment that we used. PTZ cameras, OverDrive and NVerzion products for master control. I have experience with Edius X, Adobe Premier, Final Cut X, and another system that I cannot think of for now as far as editing for newscast.
