Hi all,

I am traveling from Heathrow T5 to Chicago tomorow.

I am a normal BA member (blue) and I got my boarding pass today which says I can only check my bag 3 hours before.

Question is - I get to the airport at 5:30am (for an 11am flight) and have a airport lounge booked from 7am is it reasonable to plan and to expect them to let me check my bag sooner than the 3 hour before listed on my boarding pass? Even at a self check in counter - or should I plan to be stuck waiting to check my bag from essential 6am-8am?

Update: Bag checked 5 hours before flight, no issues whatsoever, even had to get help as I accidently set the safety off on self check in. No bother by staff.
