I am looking at buying a ticket from Atlanta, Georgia, USA to Newcastle, UK in mid October 2024. I would like to get the economy basic fare because I don’t need to check a bag, don’t care what seat I get or when I board, not interested in collecting miles, BUT I would like to know what happens if I need to change or cancel the ticket. From what I’ve found, there will be a change/cancellation fee and a fare difference for changing, but what happens to the balance of my ticket after that? I know I won’t get it refunded, but will I get a credit to use on another BA flight. For the life of me I can’t find the rules on what happens. Help!
