History lessons in school pretty much went from the Tudors straight to World War 1... Does anyone else remember it like that? I know nothing about olde England.

Not sure how old u are, but in the time you have left school many things could have changed. What we knew of some history, release of secret ww1 and ww2 documents could have happened and things change.
Something I've noticed as I speak to others who are twice my age (almost) seem to find solace and tranquil in knowing history as they/we get older. Strange to see in others and if you ask about something you'll always find a common ground even with those that don't think they like history.
