The following messages are delivered by the Polish ambassadors in Prague and Budapest:

To the Government of Czechoslovakia

The Republic of Poland is dismayed by your efforts to escalate the situation in Hungary. You would do well to remember the effects such escalations had after a terrorist attack in 1914. We will not allow you to plunge Europe into another war. If Czech troops cross into Hungary in an attempt to violate the political independence of Hungary in violation of Article 10 of the Covenant of the League of Nations, the Polish Republic will consider that an act of war against Poland pursuant to Article 16 of the Covenant of the League of Nations. We humbly, but firmly, suggest that Czechoslovakia submit this issue for international arbitration. We would be happy to serve as arbiters between the two nations. Otherwise, this issue should be submitted to the Council of the League of Nations.

To the Government of the Kingdom of Hungary

While we understand that Hungary is under threat, we hope that the situation may yet be resolved peacefully. We wish to have your government submit to arbitration on this conflict with the international community. We do not wish to believe that the Hungarian government is currently undertaking a guerrilla campaign against Czechoslovakia, but want to see both sides disarm before conflict that could involve a greater number of nations breaks out. We offer to serve as arbiters between your two nations in order to prevent this conflict from going any further. Otherwise, we ask you to petition the Council of the League of Nations for a resolution.
