As the cloud of depression began to roll across Europe and the threat of Soviet aggression has been revivified by the Soviet invasion of Finland, Poland will need to remain economically strong if it is to remain able to defend itself. The ruling Nonpartisan Bloc for Cooperation with the Government, proposed and passed through the Polish Parliament a new plan for Poland.
Poland, like many Eastern European countries, has one foot in the 20th Century and one in the 19th. Western Poland, much of which was part of the Prussian and Austrian partitions, is more urbanized, industrialized, and developed with infrastructure. Eastern Poland, which had fallen under the Russian partition, largely remains rural, agrarian and undeveloped. The division is stark enough that politicians have begun to refer to Poland A and Poland B when discussing these two regions.

Uczy艅 rolnictwo w Polsce!
Make Polish Agriculture Great!
This is a program to help rural, agricultural peasants in Poland compete with the rest of the world in the export market, which is being rocked by the depression. To make up for the loss in revenue to the rural farmer, the Polish government has allocated a $100,000,000 subsidy to agricultural production. A further $10,000,000 is allocated to help subsidize the cost of new, modern agricultural equipment to farmers, focusing on farms that are 10 hectares or less in size.
