The Great Depression has hit PerĂș hard, and her people know it. The foreign aid that had flown into the nation for the Roaring Twenties has all but disappeared, as nations are too focused on their internal affairs than the markets of a small nation in AmĂ©rical del Sur. Presidente LeguĂa, despite all of his efforts to improve PerĂș with infrastructure projects, seems to only have a few months left of his tenure as Presidente. The workers of PerĂș, those who mine and had wealth flowing into their pockets from the many exports of PerĂș's minerals have suddenly had their finances cut short, as nobody is there for her wealth. The Army, as well, seems to be rising in discontent, with a few commanders beginning to think of ways to overthrow the Presidente. APRA (Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana) and the PCP (Partido Comunista Peruano) have began a resurgence of protests against LeguĂa. However, nothing appears to have happened yet, but Presidente Augusto Bernardo LeguĂa y Salcedo is not a patient man, nor is he a careless man, and he has been imprisoning a few major enemies, and continues to practice nepotism, replacing those in his government that he deems unfit and disloyal with loyal friends. Ultimately, the future of PerĂș's leadership is unknown, but all that can be said is that Presidente LeguĂa's time in power is coming to a close.
