Such a powerful quote by Lady Danbury. Absolutely impactful. I just love this strong woman who has lived through so many experiences in life. Does this quote mean that marriage has no actual utility in a woman's life? And that an independent life is probably a better option to make the best use of her mental faculties? Of course, this seems so controversial if we think about it from the Regency era perspective but in today's world, doesn't that seem the better reward in life? To live an independent happy life without any emotional or physical entanglement with others? I'm thinking so much like Eloise but then, I love her too! Share your thoughts on this.
