My opinion on Cressida’s character and how she was treated towards the end
I feel like it would have made for a better storyline for Cressida to be “saved” and understood instead of shunned & sent away.
In the prior season, Eloise made an effort to show other characters like Penelope that Cressida has a soft side to her & acts a certain way due to being in survival mode.
She was the “unheard” and lonely character that had an unappealing personality. But the efforts of Eloise & Colin (towards the last episode) showed her softness & sadness & honestly the reality of being a woman back then always trying to pick between the lesser two evils of marrying a man you were not into or doing immoral things to get by like being nasty and blackmail.
I thought they would try to reconcile and show her good through LW writing, thus restoring her reputation. but instead it just briefly shows her being sent off & made me sad because they failed her. She was on the brink of tears when Colin came to visit her and she felt like someone finally understood her situation. The show showed us another side to her character but did nothing to gain our love back to the good side of her. Anyone else have this thought?
