Advice on how to handle a damaged-in-transit scenario
Post Body

I ordered a used, complete set. When it arrived, the packaging had obviously been taped up to mend some rips in the box. Some significant, unique pieces of the set were missing. In photos provided by the seller before purchase, these pieces were visible.

I reached out the seller, and they've been very helpful in filing a damage claim with the courier. However, the courier is claiming that the damage occurred after delivery, and therefore they are not responsible. As a part of the damage claim process, I provided footage from my video doorbell which very clearly shows the damaged packaged being placed ony doorstep. This evidence has not helped in the courier accepting responsibility.

I plan on taking additional action against the courier, but I'd like some input on how fellow buyers and sellers would react in this situation. On one hand, I did not receive the set as described, but on the other, the seller has been very communicative and helpful in remedying the situation.

Should I seek a refund for the value of the missing pieces now and then pay the seller back with any possible restitution from the courier? I'm out roughly $100 for the missing pieces, and I don't think the seller deserves an NSS or negative feedback.

What would you do?
