Hi everyone I have owned a Sage (Breville) Barista Express for years, use it daily and never had any issues. I came home the other day to find my partner had massively overfilled the hopper on top (with same same fresh coffee beans I always use) and the hopper had become unlocked somehow, I noticed this as the single and double shot lights were flashing back and forth when I went to use it. So I took the excess coffee beans out and re-locked it in place, but I found that on the finest setting the coffee was grinding to a size that would be even more coarse than the coarsest setting - no where near fine enough to draw espresso. So I understand I need to do some research into adjusting the burr settings (which I’ve never needed to do) but my question is - could overfilling the hopper have damaged it in some way? Any advice appreciated. In the meantime I cleaned out the burr area too.
