I live in Portugal near Lisbon, but I'm relocating soon to our - kind of - family estate near Tomar. It has 3 buildings and 4 separate units, more or less fully paid off except minimal remodeling, a 1500 square meters big garden and a LOT of nice equipment. My father also lives there, perhaps my sister's family too in the future, but there is enough distance between each other.
I am German/British, late thirties, clean and healthy lifestyle. I only have a peanut allergy and wear glasses when working on the computer. Had some problems with long COVID, but it's fixed and I'm constantly getting fit again (not fully there yet). I'm educated, relaxed, reliable and a discreet person. I work fully remote and location independent, perhaps I will also build my own side business in the future (I had my own business years ago).
This place is ideal to raise a family, in an area with clean air, clean water and no crime. The connection to Lisbon by train or to other places like Coimbra or Leiria is not that bad, compared to even more far out places in rural Portugal.
