Help with deciding between snowboarding and skiing

Need advice!! I’m brand new, as beginner as it gets to being on a mountain in Colorado / in general.
I have bad knees. Never had surgery on them, just hurt. Can’t go on long runs because they hurt for days if i do. Family history of bad knees.
We only got lift tickets for 2 days.
Should i ski or snowboard?
I understand you can get hurt with both. But what would you recommend?
