South gondola parking - reservations?

Hey folks I’m going to Breck next Sunday and plan to park at the south gondola parking lot so I can quickly get up on peak 6 and 7. I’m confused by the website as to whether or not I can or need to reserve a spot in advance? One part of the site says you can’t reserve, another says you need to lol. How does it work in practice? And what time should I get there to get a decent spot? I will be driving from Dillon so not super far.
Also if anyone happens to need a buddy pass next Sunday I can help
