Got into BotW a while ago. Know enough to be dangerous. But somehow 'lost'.
Post Body

Let me start out with saying how I've missed games like this, how creative the game is as well as how it doesn't hold your hand. It truly is an open world game instead of what a lot of games think open world is and in reality, isn't.

I started playing about 2 weeks ago. Got the hang of things, got off the Plateau, started reading between the lines and learning what's what. Still ended up doing dumb things like getting zapped by lightning and not knowing why. I am also one of those types that refuses to look online for answers/help with certain puzzles or clues on how to solve anything specific as I'd rather learn and figure it out.

- So I leave the Plateau.

- I get to the first town and figure out how to wrangle a horse on the way there.

- That town sends me to the second town with the little scientist girl.

- I manage to find and complete a handful of shrines that have me at 7 total hearts.

- I have a few side quests in my journal (but nothing big or earth shattering) and the 'defeat Ganon' plus the 'Memories' quests. I'm given the divine beasts quests from the old lady at the first town.

- By a stroke of bad luck, I end up pursuing the thunder divine beast questline. Spent HOURS making my way through the town quests, Yiga Clan line and then to the actual Divine Beast. I feel like I am WAY under-leveled (hearts and equipment) for this.

- Get though the divine beast 'dungeon' to meet Ganon at the end and get 2 shotted every time.

- Teleport out with the intention of coming back when stronger.

But now the question is, I basically have the 'beat the game' questline and the divine beast questlines. Not much else. I obviously need more hearts and better equipment, yet, when traveling, I did any shrine I could find and lit up any tower I could get to and now shrines feel very uncommon.

I feel like I am totally missing something about the other 95% of the game that I don't have quests for or lack any actual direction to go and do?
