While breaking up with me in what was probably the cruelest manner possible, he said “I don’t even think I ever loved you at all.” This is probably not the right question to ask, but why would he have stayed with me for two years if he wasn’t sure he ever loved me at all? Do we think it’s more likely he said that during the breakup to hurt me more than because he truly meant it? He said “I love you” in the relationship first, btw. It’s a stuck point for me because I feel like my trust in everything is shattered. I don’t understand it and I can’t help but blame myself, honestly.
