I broke someone’s heart by leaving them. Broke my own heart too. I wanted to date other people for so long, and after trying many things in this long term relationship, I left. But I also had incredibly conflicting feelings because I also deeply cared for this person.
And a few months later now, I started feeing really good. Happy, light, excited. I start going on dates. I’m now even meeting people who I feel like they have serious potential for a relationship. It started feeling like exactly what I wanted.
But sometimes suddenly and unexpectedly the dating experience (phone calls, texts, meeting up) provokes my anxiety in a bad way. After talking to my therapist it’s clear there’s still a big amount of pain/loss to process.
So I want to try to heal in an intentional way with books and self help. But so many books are written for someone who was left, not for the leaver.
Any reccs out there that are good for healing the breaker-upper?
