Hi! I’m F20 at a weird point with my ex M21 and need some opinions.
We were together for about a year and our breakup was by far one of the most difficult things emotionally I ever had to go through. But, eventually turned out to be amazing because I became so much stronger, healed many of my wounds and became a secure and emotionally stable person.
Any time we would see each other at a party 4 months ago he would avoid me like the plague and made it known to many people we were both close with that he had moved on. That rejection and heartbreak was so painful and devastating. I couldn’t understand how he moved on so quickly. Over the summer I really just took the time to heal, be alone, and we were no contact for about 3 months.
Well last night I saw him for the first time. I was expecting to see him at the party so I prepared myself for the worst case scenario (seeing him with a new girlfriend) and reminded myself that he can’t change how I view myself. I was expecting to be completely ignored, but that’s not what happened. First he kept glancing over to me, trying to find where I was when I left his line of sight, and slowly trying to get closer and closer. Then he pulled me to talk but I kept it really short and polite and walked away, he left after that.
Then today I ran into him at the gym and I saw him see me when I first got there. He then left where he was working out and proceeded to follow me into the back room I was working out. He waved again and went to talk to me but I just put my weights away and stayed focused on my workout.
This probably sounds so juvenile but I really just can’t figure out what’s going on. Why is he going from completely ignoring me, to now wanting to be in my presence and talk?
Please let me know. Thank you!
