How do you break up with someone?
Post Body

Title says it all. My long distance girlfriend and I have been together for 6 months. Throughout these 6 months I’ve seen a very unstable family that goes from loving and caring to yelling and name calling on a dime. She is using me as a counsellor constantly and I’ve asked her multiple times to go see an actual counsellor. I’ve been with her every step of the way as she is through rough times and yet she still finds a way to be mad at me for not doing enough sometimes. If I was going to break up with her, how do I go about it? What is the most respectful and loving way for me to do so?

I really want to see her succeed in dental hygiene and I’ve told her this numerous times. I want to see her do well but it’s just weighing down on me with the chaos going on in her household as well as having to deal with blame that shouldn’t be on me at all. She calls me controlling when I’ve asked her so many times to go see a counsellor. It’s just a lot.
