Hi there, this type of post probably comes through this subreddit nonstop, but I just had a pretty devastating breakup earlier this week with my high school sweetheart and I’m not sure how to pick up the pieces. They don’t have feelings anymore and still talk to me like a friend, they’ve even said I have a very slim chance of getting back with them, but I’m not hopeful. They’re a good and caring friend, but I’ll always have feelings for them, so I’ve made plans to completely cut them out by the end of summer.
I have poor social skills, I’m unemployed, and there aren’t really anybody like me at my campus (we don’t go to the same schools), and little to no friends. At this moment, I’m not super concerned about finding someone else, I’m in no state to even think about finding someone else, but I have no idea how that’s even going to happen. I want to be the best person I can be for both myself and the future Mrs.Superspam767, what are some things I can do to improve myself and maybe make me happier?
I only dated them for around a year and I fully acknowledge that what we had was far from perfect, so I know I’ll be back on my feet by next year. In the meantime, what are some healthy ways that helped get you through your breakups? What makes you happy?
