Post Body

I have been on this subreddit for a while. I have read a bunch of stories and this has given me insights. I truly empathize and sympathize with people who have been broken up because it really does suck. No deserves to go through that. As someone who has been on both ends I know how it feels.

I have a question however. Whenever I see posts on this subreddit there’s always little to no accountability on the person being broken up. Why is that the case ?

Surely you must have seen the signs. Maybe you noticed your partners behavior changing? Perhaps they gave you multiple chances to correct something in the e relationship but you never did? Perhaps they got tired of you not meeting all their needs?

Relationships are about give and take. I will attest that there are some shitty people out there, who will get what’s coming for them. I don’t think everyone who has broken up with someone is inherently a bad person. People are allowed to do what’s in their best interest even if that inconveniences you along the way. I think most dumpers are villainized and people pray for their karma. It is ok to feel hurt and disappointed when someone breaks up with you.

I’m not trying to victim blame anyone, but a more nuanced conversation needs to be conducted around the roles we play in the end of our relationships. It takes two to tango.

I hope I have not offended anyone with this post. If I have, I sincerely apologize.
