I know it's unconventional but i had to think outside the box. My ex has never, in 7 years, been 100% honest with me about the situations surrounding her eventual cheating with her ex. From the reason their paths crossed in the first place, to when the first guy intimate again. So, to get some answers i need so I can appropriately process all this and hopefully move on, i reached out to the only other person who has knowledge of what happened, her ex. Surprisingly, he has been fairly forthcoming, and his version of events actually makes sense. Really messed up part is he sat by why she lied to me like it was nothing, and the whole time she was doing the same thing to him. She always made him out to be some dirtbag that manipulated her and brainwashed her. No, she wanted to fuck the dude down the street so she kept up the lie as her justification to cheat. Now, I'm not just blindly trusting this guy, he was fucking my gf. But the fact that i can cross reference what he is telling me, and she wants me to believe that she doesn't remember the things i wanted specifics on. I might be setting myself up for a hit, but so far it is helping me clear all this up. I need to sleep. I need to eat. I need to be able to forget her. Am i a fool for placing any trust into this? Or, am i right to think that he would tell me the truth, like it happened, because like me he has nothing left to lose, she already took it.
