I’ve seen many posts and videos talking about how useless or underwhelming lmgs are in this game and for the first 20ish hours I 100% agreed. I rocked an lmg as an “oh shit” and as a flyswatter for quite a while but as I became more accustomed to how stealth and the sound mechanics interact with the AI and I can finally say I feel like LMG’s deserve another try. I ask anyone who’s dropped them for good or want a little mix up in their armory to heed my advice. I have found great success in scount a base with my drone, plopping myself about 150 meters away from the nearest enemy in a base and proceeding to fire quick bursts at every enemy in sight. Obviously take into account if they’ll be seen/ where their body will fall, but enemies at 140m won’t hear your gunshots so a suppresser isn’t needed and you pack enough rounds to dispatch large groups/ swathes of a base, think of it as a belt fed dmr.

TLDR: Give LMG’s another shot, use it as a dmr substitute at a distance of 150ish meters or more and enjoy.
