I make deli sandwiches for lunch. I put my condiments on the bread slices, and then place meat and cheese on top before putting it in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes before putting veggies on. Thing is, the bread gets so hot that it basically becomes paper thin upon grabbing the sandwich when eating it.
I currently use 100% whole wheat bread from Aldi. Apart from this issue, I like the bread. However, I also have a meat slicer, so I wouldn’t mind buying an uncut loaf and slicing it up myself.
I’m looking for bread/loaves without a tough crust. Not only would tough crusts be difficult to cut with the smooth blade on my meat slicer (don’t have a serrated blade), but I also just plain don’t like tough [crusted] breads.
So, what type of bread/loaf would be best for this? Preferably nothing expensive, but I’m not exclusively looking for anything cheap either.
