Visit Rio and SP in July?

I’m going to Rio and SP for a week each in begging of July. I searched for Google which month was best and no rainy and it says July. But now I have seen thread on Reddit that says July month is dull and rainy in Rio and SP.

Honestly I’m not interested in hot sunny days and I’m not a beach person. I’m just going there to explore a bit the city and also for nightlife/dating stuff.

I already booked a non refundable flight ticket from Europe. It’s like 15 hours flight and wasn’t even cheap. So I’m getting a bit anxious if I will be in a horrible weather with rain and storm almost everyday.
