I began working for a smoothie store with a lot of Brazilian customers in the U.S. what are some things of the Brazilian culture I can educate myself about to make it seem like wow this foreigner knows whats up?

I can't speak Portuguese or Spanish but a woman yesterday tried to speak to me an I told her I couldn't she said "oh... well I guess its good they have an American here not every customer is Brazilian."
So I felt some sort of weakness there wonder if possible to improve in anyway.
