This post was something I was expecting to write since the day Gears got leaked, since it was obvious Supercell would introduce some new sort of monetary system to the game eventually.
What I didn't expect, however, was the implementation.
You can only buy 4 Golden Tickets per Season (Week). And though that seems excessive, it is evident that they put a limit there for a reason.
To get all 4 Tickets for a season, you have to pay 15 gems... which is a total of 60 gems per month (4 seasons).
HOWEVER.
You can also purchase a single Golden Ticket for Star Points, and that just comes out at 75 Star Points.
Doing the math, getting every single ticket from a season... just comes out at 300 Star Points.
So, by the end of the month, you would need to spend 1200 Star Points. To get EVERY Golden Ticket possible.
More importantly, this is all spread out within a month. If you want to get every Golden Ticket for a season, you just need to get 300 Star Points, which you can obtain instantly by achieving Rank 20 with a SINGLE brawler. I find that reasonable.
To get EVERY Golden Ticket possible in a YEAR in the F2P route, by the way, you'd need 14400 Star Points. Getting a Power League skin is 25000 Star Points, btw.
And to get EVERY Golden Ticket possible in the "Mommy's Credit Card" route... you'd need 720 gems.
It is fairer to say that you're getting conned for buying Golden Tickets with gems than with Star Points. Don't be so concerned for the future of Brawl Stars' monetization.
